Following main results are foreseen to be reached after completing the project:
The site management plan for Nature Park 'Piejura' is updated and approved. The plan includes (a) up-to-date survey data and proper assessment of the habitat types, species and other nature values in the area, with particular emphasis on the demonstration areas, (b) up-to-date restoration plan based on the newest available knowledge of the habitats and species in the area, threats and possible solutions, (c) project of the individual regulation (i. e. functional zoning) to be approved by the Cabinet of Ministers, (d) plan for sustainable visitor management. The deterioration of habitats of EU-importance is singificantly diminished allowing regeneration of natural vegetation in Mangali, Garciems, Carnikava and Saulkrasti areas.
Improved conservation status of the habitat-related bird species (14 species) Invasive alien species are erradicated or significantly surpressed. General public and stakeholders involved by awareness raising campaigns and educational activities. Experience gained by networking with nature conservation institutions
